The power cord cannot be repaired. If it is damaged, the
entire appliance should be discarded, or the power cord
should be replaced by a cord of the same kind. BUT THIS
OPERATION MUST BE PERFORMED BY QUALIFIED
PERSONNEL ONLY.
This appliance must be supplied through a residual current device
(RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30 mA.
This appliance contains an emitter with UV-C rays, which may damage
the eyes and skin. Improper use or damage to their protective casing
may cause harmful UV-C radiation to leak out. If clearly damaged, the
appliances must not be used.
It is prohibited to use the UV-C lamp on the outside of the appliance.
Check that the voltage given on the appliance label corresponds to
the electrical supply voltage.
Before connecting the appliance to the electrical supply,
check that the cable and the appliance are not damaged in
any way.
Do not place the power cable underground, but follow
the installation instructions prescribed by the local
regulations in force, and consult a qualified installer
and electrician.
When installing the appliance, do not use the power
cable to lift it.
Before starting up the appliance, check that it has
been correctly installed.
Do not make any technical alterations to the appliance.
Use only original spare parts and accessories.
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
ATTENTION
: STORAGE and
OVERWINTERING. The unit is able to operate with a minimum water
and ambient temperature till +41°F (+5°C). Put the unit out of
operation when the water and ambient temperature goes down under
+41°F (+5°C). Make sure the unit is stored in no freezing location.
Never look directly at the UV-C lamp when it is switched on.
Never connect the filters to the public water supply network.

INSTALLATION
•
The UV CLARIFIER filter can be used as an independent filtering system for transmission and filtering of water coming from the pump, and in a
combination with other pressure and gravity filters of mechanical or biological type from the PondMAX pond line of filters. In this case, refer to
instructions for use of the above-mentioned appliances for assembling and installation of PondMAX UV Water Clarifier.
The filter must not be immersed into water.
The filter cannot function under dry conditions, but it must be connected to a pump. To determine which is the most suitable pump for your
intended purpose, follow the application table.

This appliance cannot be used by children under eight or persons
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision
or instructions concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the risks involved. Children shall not play with the appliance
because this is not a toy. Cleaning and maintenance shall not be made
by children without supervision.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Please read the operating instructions and familiarize yourself with the equipment before placing it
in service. Correct and safe use of the equipment requires strict compliance with the safety instructions.
For safety reasons persons less than 16 years of age or people that are not familiar with these
instructions should not use this equipment.
The appliance power cable must form an appropriate loop,
facing downwards (DRIP LOOP - Fig. 1), to prevent any runoff
water from coming into contact with the electrical socket itself.

PRODUCT SPECIFIC SAFEGUARDS
• The appliance must not be operated without sufficient water-flow through it. Do not use this appliance for filtering caustic, abrasive,
inflammable, aggressive or explosive liquids, and even drinking water.
• These appliances contain glass. Handle with due care.
• The PondMAX® UV-C Water Clarifier must not operate under water. If it should accidentally be submerged in water, disconnect the plugs
from the power supply electrical socket before touching it.
• When used outdoors, install and properly fix the clarifier in an area that is not subject to flooding. Minimum safe distance from water
should be 6ft (2m), according to international standard IEC 60364-7-702.

: Disconnect all the electrical appliances in
the pond before carrying out installation and maintenance
operations. If the connected plug or the electrical
socket should be wet, disconnect the master switch
before pulling out power cord.

before replacing lamp and for servicing.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS: This appliance must be grounded. In the
event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk
of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric
current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an
appliance-grounding conductor and a grounding plug. The plug must
be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is installed and grounded
in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

Improper connection of the appliance-grounding
conductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Check with a qualified
electrician or service representative if you are in doubt whether the
appliance is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug provided with
the appliance; if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed
by a qualified technician.
