Before you begin installing the PictureTel

®

970 or PictureTel 960 system, you should make sure that the

network is ready.

The document Preparing Your Network for Collaboration contains worksheets that will help you get the network
ready. For example, for ISDN networks, the worksheets list the ISDN BRI dialect, the Network Number Type,
and so on. You can find a copy of the Preparing Your Network for Collaboration document at the PictureTel
documentation web site, http://documentation.picturetel.com. You or your network administrator should
follow the procedures in this document to prepare the network.

To connect to a LAN, you must have a LAN cable. If you don’t have a LAN cable, contact your system
administrator.
