RECOMMENDED TECHNIQUE

for STEAM iro-

ning with Polti iron is to APPLY steam (button
10) on the upstroke, then release button (

10

) (so

no steam) for the backstroke, so reclosing the fi-
bres, preventing oversteaming and wetness.

DRY IRONING

If you need to DRY iron (ONLY) (NOT steam iro-
ning), press the accessory switch (

3

) and adjust

the iron temperature by turning the dial (

7

) to the

temperature required for the fabric (as shown on
the dial).

NOTE:

• The steam pressure indicator (

5

) and the “Iron

Heating” indicator (

10b

) may go on and off from

time to time during use of Vaporella. This means
the machine is maintaining the correct and con-
stant pressure and is quite normal.

• If no steam is released from the iron, check the

following: the steam pressure indicator (

5

) is off;

there is water in the boiler; the steam control (

6

)

is set to one of the “Steam” settings.

USE

With the Polti teflon soleplate it is possible to iron
all fabrics that usually tend to become shiny. The
soleplate can also be used with all other fabrics.

ASSEMBLING

Warning: mount the soleplate when the iron is cold.
Make sure that the spring is in external position as
in fig. 12 and fits the soleplate making the tips
match correctly (fig. 13).
Pull the spring towards the back of the iron until it
reaches the entry point for the cable, as shown in
fig. 13a.

Before using the stain remover gun, it is advisa-
ble to carefully read the following instructions
which allow a correct classification of stains and
supply accurate advice on the most appropriate
way of operating.

In order to act properly on stains, it is important
to be able to distinguish them.
Identifying the stain means understanding its ori-
gin and age. This allows you to avoid unsucces-
sful attempts which often, as well as not produ-
cing an optimal result, can also be damaging.

“THE AGE”

All

RECENT

stains can be removed with the

stain remover gun without having to wash the
item. As they get older, stains attach themselves
to the fabric’s fibres and in some cases, steam
cannot remove them. In such cases it is neces-
sary to wash the item. If the recently stained fa-
brics are treated immediately with mineral water,
the stain does not attach itself to the fibres and
subsequent steam cleaning with the stain remo-
ver gun will prove quicker and more effective.

“THE ORIGIN”

Stains are produced from substances of various
origins and according to the base of the predo-
minant substance they can be classified as ha-
ving the following origin:

•

ANIMAL

(protein base): soup and meat sauce,

milk and cream, blood, sweat, egg, urine, vomit.

•

VEGETABLE

(tannin base): beer, coffee, choco-

late, Coca-Cola, fruit, wine, tea.

•

VARIOUS

(specific stains): paint, lipstick, biro,

tar, rust, perfume.

To better identify the origins of the staining sub-
stance you can help yourself by using your
senses. The shape, touch, colour and location
are very important (see

TAB.1

).
