8.
Unplug the kettle and let it cool.
9.
Wipe the kettle outside with a damp cloth.
Never immerse the kettle, cord, plug, or power base in water.
10.
Getting rid of limescale
Due to the salt content in the water limescale forms at the bottom and around the walls of the kettle. The presence of limescale and sediment must be
checked regularly and removed in a timely manner. If your kettle boils water for too long, turns off before boiling or makes excessive noise during operation
this means that it needs to be de-scaled. The appearance of limescale depends on the water hardness. De-scale the kettle at least 1 once a month.
To clean your kettle from limescale you can use a
citric acid solution
:
Mix 25 g of citric acid with 0.5 l of hot water.
Pour the liquid into the kettle.
Leave it on for 15 minutes.
Rinse the kettle with cold water two to three times.
Repeat cleaning if necessary.
To clean your kettle from limescale you can use a
dilute solution of vinegar
.
Dilute 2/3 of water and 1/3 of 6% vinegar.
Pour this solution into the kettle so that the heating element is covered, boil 2 - 3 times with 20-minute pauses.
Rinse the kettle with clean water two-three times and wipe it with a dry cloth.
Repeat cleaning if necessary.
You can also use a
special de-scaler
suitable for metal kettles. Follow manufacturer's recommendations.
Attention!
Never use aggressive or abrasive detergents to clean the kettle.
When using a descaling powder, always add water as recommended by the powder manufacturer. Never use these products without water.
Perform all loading/unloading/washing operations only with the kettle disconnected from the grid.
11.
ilter Cleaning
Disconnect the base from the grid and remove the kettle from the base. Pour out the remaining water. Cool the kettle if it is hot.
Open the kettle lid.
Gently pull the filter towards you by the tab with the arrow, remove it from the slot and place it under a low stream of water. Use a soft brush to remove dirt (not
included). Rinse with water.
Place the cleaned filter in the grooves inside the nose (as described in Section 5 hereof).
Attention!
!
Do not remove the filter if there is hot water in the kettle.
Over time, the kettle's heating element may change colour due to intense heating. This is a normal occurrence, and the kettle can be used further.
