EFI DIAGNOSTICS USING ‘BLINK
CODES’

Blink Codes - Operation

To enable the blink codes,

turn the ignition from “OFF”

to “ON” 3 times, leaving it 'on' the 3rd time, within 5
seconds.

Any “blink codes” that are stored in the ECU will display,
one at a time, in numerical order. The word ‘WAIT’ will
appear on the LCD display and the Malfunction Indicator
Light (MIL) or Check Engine light will begin to flash.

Read

and record the number of flashes of the MIL light.

A code

‘12’ indicates the beginning of the diagnostic sequence. A
code ‘61’ will flash after all codes have been transmitted.

NOTE: To clear codes manually, disconnect the
positive battery lead for 20 seconds.
