DESCRIPTION OF THE MACHINE
Vantage is a direct current (DC) electric pump fiTed with an electronic control. The wide range
of accessories available for vantage pump allows a lot of uses, installations and applications con-
sidering the dimensions of the inlet-outlet connections and the different possible conbinations of
the base-support
The Vantage components is folowing:
PUMP: volumetric-type, self-priming, rotary vane.
MOTOR: brush-type with low-voltage direct current and intermiTent cycle.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD which guides the motor and monitors the following
variables:
- Work time
- Average current absorbed by the motor;
- Motor rotor temperature;
- Inlet for possible addition of level sensor (c VDC and GND power supply).
Thanks to the monitoring of these parameters, it is possible to always make the pump and motor
work in optimal conditions to maximize performance and, at the same time, to always guarantee
operation within the safety parameters.
In accordance with the four parameters listed, the microcontroller on the electronic circuit board
adjusts the operating parameters to meet the following requirements:
1.
Maximum operating time, which has a default factory seTing of 10 minutes, ensures that
even the largest tanks of operating machines can be filled completely, at the same time
guaranteeing the safety of automatic shutdown in case the pump is le on by mistake.
2.
Automatic lock if the pump is active without liquids for more than 1 minute. This
function prevents the pump from running “dry” and being damaged as a result. Cases in
which this could happen are:
2.1.
Failure to prime when dispensing begins
2.2.
Emptying of the tank from which the liquid that needs to be transferred is taken
3.
The average current is monitored to protect the motor against mechanical blockages of the rotor:
if the maximum tolerable values are exceeded, the pump will stop.
4
. The internal temperature of the motor must never exceed the critical values, even in
the most demanding hydraulic conditions. If the motor temperature tends to rise towards
values that could damage the motor, the electronic control begins to reduce the current in
order to guarantee continued operation as well as the safety of the motor.
5
The electronic control has a Normally-Open or Normally-Closed type inlet, on which a level sensor
contact that indicates when the tank is full can be connected. When the pump receives this external
signal it stops. A 24VDC is also available to power the external level sensor.
6
To reduce electrical and mechanical stress linked to standing starts, the electronic
board controls the motor start-up by means of SOFTSTART logic.
7. It is possible to operate the ON/OFF control as well as the display of the 3 LED by remote.
