2.3 Function Switches
The CLD-V5000 videodisc player has eight physical dip-switches on the rear panel of
the player (See
Figure 2-G
below.) The switches are set as follows when the player is
shipped from the factory: Switch 1 and 4 are DOWN (ON) and Switch 2, 3, 5, 6,
7and 8 are UP (OFF). These defaults set the player to: 4800 BAUD, 1-Side Repeat ON,
Power-on/Load Start OFF, Background Color BLUE, and Sequential Playback OFF.

SW1 and SW2:
These two switches are used to set the BAUD rate of the Player for RS-232C
communications to 9600, 4800, 2400, or 1200 BAUD. The factory set default is 4800 BAUD, with Switch
1 DOWN and Switch 2 UP.
SW3 and SW4:
These two switches are used to set the REPEAT MODE of the Player to stop after one
side of the disc completes playback, after both sides complete playback, or to allow continuous one-side
repeat playback or continuous two-sided repeat playback. The default is One-Side Repeat ON
SW5:
Automatic playback begins when a disc is loaded in the tray, the tray table is pushed in and power
is turned ON. Default is OFF. UP=OFF. DOWN=ON.
SW6:
Background for setting squelch color: Black is DOWN=ON; Blue is UP=OFF. Default is Blue = UP.
SW7:
Sequential Playback. Default UP=OFF. To enable sequential playback, Set SW 7 DOWN=ON and
use a special RS-232C cable to connect two or more players. With sequential playback enabled, and when
playback of a disc completes, the next player immediatly starts playback. See
Appendix E
for details.
SW8:
This switch is NOT USED and must always be UP=OFF.
