PREPARATION FOR INSTALLING

- Carefully read all the information contained in the section
“
GENERAL RULES
” before installing the firebox.
- Unpack the firebox.
- Release the counterweight by slackening the relative screw to be
found inside the upper part of the door (Fig. 27 and 28).
- Release the grate by unscrewing the wing nut (Fig. 29), remove the
wood shims and the metal section to be found under the grate and
then replace the grate.
- Where present, remove the polystyrene parts fixing the two smoke
baffle plates to the inside of the firebox.
- Fit the “Multifuoco System
®
” ventilation kit, if required, following
the sequence given in the respective instructions and refer to the
paragraph “
METHODS OF HEAT DIFFUSION
”.
- Adjust the height of the grate, adjusting the feet of the hearth in
relation to the chosen surround and making the hearth level. The
firebox is provided with feet allowing the height of the grate to be
raised 25 cm above the ground (Fig. 30). If this height needs to be
increased, insert suitable shims.
- Fit the smoke damper (see “
INSTALLATION OF SMOKE DAMPER
”).
- Connect the firebox to the flue as indicated in “
CONNECTION TO
THE FLUE
”.
- Light for the first time and check that the firebox is working
properly (see “
LIGHTING FOR THE FIRST TIME
”).
- If the check is successful, proceed with installation of the surround.
