Alarm relay connections

The relay contact, part of the terminal block connector (see 

Figure

 

4-6

 and 

Figure

 

4-7

), is 

used to detect user-configured events. The switch provides fail open and fail close contacts 

(Form C) to form relay circuits based on requirements. If the device is not powered or if an 

active alarm is present, the relay de-energizes, initiating the NO and NC states. 

The contacts are energized upon power up of the unit and remain energized unless a critical 

error occurs. One common application for this output is to raise an alarm if a power failure 

or removal of control power occurs.
