Operator services
Profiles
A profile is a set of parameters that will be used for a
WAP connection. This menu allows you to select one
of the available profiles, then define or change the
connection settings for each of them (press
L
Active
to select / deselect). Press
R
Edit
to access
the following options:
WAP push setting
To set
On
or
Off
the automatic reception of messages
automatically sent to you by the network and / or by
your operator.
Push messages include URL links for quick access to
the corresponding WAP services: a single click on the
WAP Push message will connect to the WAP site for
browsing or downloading multimedia files into your
handset.
Profile
name
To rename the selected profile.
IP address
To enter the IP address used for the
WAP connection.
IP port
To enter the IP port address, also
used for the WAP connection.
Homepage
To enter a WAP site address, to
which you will connect directly
when connecting using the related
profile.
Linger time
To enter a value of inactivity
timeout (in seconds), after which
you phone will automatically
disconnect from WAP.
Select
mode
To select the type of connection that
will be established:
Auto
,
CDS
Bearer
(over the GSM network) or
GPRS Bearer
. If the GPRS network
isn’t available upon connection, a
message will ask you if a CSD
connection should be made instead.
CSD bearer
To select one of the CSD profiles
you have set in
Settings
>
Network
>
Bearer settings
>
CSD settings
(see page 24).
GPRS
bearer
To select one of the GPRS profiles
you have set in
Settings
>
Network
>
Bearer settings
>
GPRS settings
(see page 24).
