3.12 Object orientation
X/Y adjustment screws
Clamping lever
1
The clamping lever must be loosened (red marking point on
the top) in order to move the object to the required position.
Movement in the X and Y axes is possible via the coaxial
arrangement of the adjustment screws. The clamping lever
is set to the clamp position as soon as the required position
is reached. The set position is then fixed.
Zero-point setting
The two adjustment screws must be turned as far as the red
markers. For ease of orientation, this position is tangible.

3.13 Exchanging the object mounting
To change the object mounting device, release the clamping
lever and remove it from the guide bore. Both adjusting
screws must be turned as far as the red markers. After that,
the entire object mounting device and clamp together
with the adapter can be removed upwards. The new object
mounting device is fitted in reverse order. Take care with
the correct positioning of the guide bore in the adapter to
allow reinsertion of the clamping lever. After each change,
check that the clamping lever is sufficiently clamped. If
it is not properly clamped, vibrations etc. can occur while
sectioning.

In order to clamp the knife or microtome blade holder into
the knife holder, both clamping screws are unscrewed until
the knife or microtome blade holder can be pushed in from
the side. Finally, both clamping screws are equally tightened
and thereby fix the knife or microtome blade holder. Moving
the knife/ microtome blade holder in the knife holder is
possible after both clamping screws have been loosened to
the left and to the right. Clearance angle adjustment can
be made without loosening the knife clamp. To do this,
the clamping lever must be loosened (red point). The set
clearance angle can be read off on the knife holder scale and
must finally be fixed by the clamping lever. The adjustment
of the clearance angle is made by the button on the knife
holder surface. The clearance angle must always be matched
to the corresponding cutting requirements. We recommend
a setting of 10° (refer to index on the scale).
WARNING
Caution! It is imperative that the knife slide lock
is activated during all work on the knife holder.
The clearance angle can only be adjusted when
the clamping lever is loosened.
