ly before storing it. Clean the Dutch oven, and

how do i season the Petromax
dutch oven?
From time to time, you will have to renew the
patina (seasoned finish). If, for example, the
cast iron starts getting small rust spots, then
the Petromax Dutch Oven should be properly
cleaned and re-seasoned.
Remove the rust from the cast iron. Clean all
parts with warm water, a liquid detergent, and a
soft-bristled cleaning brush. Dry the Dutch oven
immediately with a cloth. Coat it thoroughly
(inner and outer surfaces) with sunflower oil or
vegetable fat. Put the Dutch oven in the oven
with a temperature of approximately 180°C
(356°F). Bake for 1 to 2 hours. Then, switch off
the oven. Open the door of the oven, and let the
Dutch oven cool down. After the Dutch oven has
cooled down, apply another layer of oil or fat.
You have seasoned your Petromax Dutch Oven.
