Adding the device to the network

1.

Download and install the software "TwinCAT 3.1 - eXtended Automation Engineering" (XAE). 
The software is available on the website of the manufacturer Beckhoff at 
http://www.beckhoff.com/english.asp?download/tc3-download-xae.htm.

2.

After the installation, copy the ESI file into the following folder: 
C:\TwinCAT\3.1\Config\Io\EtherCAT

3.

Open TwinCAT V3 and check to see if your Ethernet card works with the software. If your device 
is displayed in the sub-folder

Installed and ready to use devices

”

, you can proceed.

4.

Open a new TwinCAT project.

5.

Click through the device tree until you see a symbol with the label Devices. Right-click the 
symbol and select 

Scan
