What should I do if the POI Pilot
constantly alerts me of cameras that
don’t check my lane?
Please adjust the angle for the warning to the minimum (25 degrees) – especially
with mobile cameras. This will significantly reduce false alerts. However, keep in
mind that it might alert you either extremely late or not at all of cameras along the
traffic lane after a bend, for example.
Please reduce the warning time – especially when dealing with mobile cameras;
the more you reduce the warning distance, the less likely you are to be warned of
speed cameras focusing on the other lane/s.
Deactivate the acoustic warning of mobile speed cameras (or at least the second
warning). As there are a lot of potential mobile speed traps, the problem is mainly
that you’re alerted of a mobile trap when there is none.
POI Pilot can no longer be switched
on and is no longer detected by
POIbase.
Firmware update
failed.
Switch off the device (move the switch away from the display). Connect the device
via USB. Press and hold the M button. Switch on the device (move the switch
towards the display).
Release the M button. POIbase should now detect the device again and the update
via POIbase can be repeated. The device visibly switches back on once the update
has succeeded.
Auto on / off via ignition.
Battery in POI Pilot
6000.
If you want the device to start automatically with the vehicle, please proceed as
follows: remove the battery from the device and switch the device on (switch to
the display).
If the device is now connected to the vehicle via the USB cable, the device starts
automatically when the 12-volt ignition is connected to the cigarette lighter and
thus to the USB cable. The unit switches off when the vehicle is parked and the
ignition is turned off.
