Touch io Instruction Manual
Mobile Devices and Software
The
touch io
reader utilizes Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) version 4.0.
For the
touch App
to work optimally, both the mobile device and the
touch io
firmware should be updated to
the latest versions.
●
: iOS 11.0 or higher
●
: v6.0 (Marshmallow) or higher and BLE 4.0 Peripheral Mode supported
Removing a Credential
In the event that a previously credentialed smart device is lost, stolen, or replaced, it is necessary to reissue
the
touch App
credential for the user and delete that device from the
Credentials
list of authorized devices.
To remove a device, hover the cursor over the device name listed in the
Credentials
section of the
Person
screen in the
pdk.io
application and click the trash icon
.
Performing a Firmware Update
Firmware updates are done when the mobile device and the
touch io
reader are in close proximity to each
other. The smart device (phone, tablet, etc.) downloads the firmware from the cloud and passes it over to the
touch io
reader via Bluetooth.
IMPORTANT
: Prior to starting the
touch io
update, it will be necessary to close out of the
pdk touch App
on your device.
(There are compatibility issues between these two apps.) If the
pdk
touch App
is running, the firmware update won’t work. Once the update is complete, the
touch App
can be started again.
For detailed information about how to close the
touch App
in
and
, see their
respective sections below.
