4. Place the throttle grip in the “START” (start) position.      

 

 

5.  Pull out the choke knob fully.     

   
                     

 

NOTE: 

 

It is not necessary to use the choke when starting a warm engine. 

 

If the choke is left in the “START” (start) position while the engine is running, the engine will run   
poorly or stall. 

 

6.  Pull the manual starter handle slowly until you feel   

resistance. Then give a strong pull straight to crank   
and start the engine. Repeat if necessary.

 

 

                           

 

 

 
 

7. After the engine starts, slowly return the manual starter handle to its original position before releasing it.
