• Allow the engine to cool down before maintenance and
cleaning work, as well as before storage.
• Keep the engine, silencer and fuel tank free of dust, branch-
es and leaves. Risk of fire!
• Only empty the tank outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms.

by the tube.
• When transporting in a vehicle, remove the tubes and load
the device in such a way that there is no danger to persons.
The device should be secured to prevent it toppling during
transport in vehicles in order to ensure that fuel does not
escape and to prevent damage and injuries.
F) Environmental protection
• Dispose of packaging and waste materials in accordance
with applicable local laws.
• Fuel residues, oils and liquids used for cleaning must be dis-
posed of in an environmentally friendly manner!
• Dispose of this device properly in accordance with the regu-

G) Safe use of fuels
Fuels and fuel vapours are flammable and can cause serious
damage if they are inhaled or come into contact with the skin.
Caution is therefore advised when using fuel and ensure good
ventilation.
• Switch off the engine and allow the tool to cool down be-
fore refuelling the device.
• Do not smoke and avoid naked flames when refuelling.
• Wear gloves when refuelling.
• Do not refuel in enclosed spaces (risk of explosion).
• Ensure that you do not spill fuel or oil. Clean the device

• Never refuel when the engine is running or hot.
H) Residual risks
Even when abiding by the intended use, and despite observ-
ing all applicable safety provisions, residual risks are still pre-
sent, due to the nature of the design (as determined by the
purpose of the tool):
• Injury due to ejected parts.
• Breakage and ejection of blade pieces.
• Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning when using the de-
vice in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.
• Danger of burning if hot components are touched.
• Impairment of hearing in the event of prolonged work with-
out hearing protection.
Consideration and caution lower the risk of personal injuries
and damage.
Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met, some
non-obvious residual risks may still remain.
Residual risks can be minimised if the “Safety Instructions” and
the “Intended Use” together with the operating manual as a
whole are observed.
