arc. As soon as the arc is ignited, try
to maintain a gap from the workpiece,
which is equivalent to the diameter of
the electrode used. The gap should
remain as constant as possible while
you are welding. The angle of the
electrode in the direction of operation
should be 20–30 degrees.
ATTENTION!
Always use pliers to remove used
electrodes or move hot workpieces.
Please note that the electrode holder
must always be placed onto an
insulated base after welding.
The slag can only be removed from
the seam once it has cooled down.
If welding continues on an intermittent
weld seam, then the slag should be
removed at the point of attachment first.
ATTENTION!
Welding generates heat. For this
reason, after use the welding device
must be allowed to idle for at least half
an hour. Alternatively, let the device
cool off for an hour. The device can only
be packed and stored once the device
temperature has returned to normal.
Switch the device OFF by setting the
ON/OFF switch
2
to the “OFF”
position.

Overload protection
The welding device is protected against
overheating by means of an automatic
protection device. Allow the device to
cool down (approx. 15 min.) for the
activation of the protection device.
As soon as the control lamp
6
goes out,
the device is ready for operation again.
PESG 120 B4 (with AC 230 V 50 Hz
mains plug):
The fuses of the supply lines to the
power sockets must comply with the
regulations (VDE 0100). Safety sockets
must be fused with max. 16 A (type
and technical specifications: NDM1-63,
AC 230 / 400 V C16. IEC 60898.
slow blow trigger. Manufacturer: Nader)
(fuses or Miniature circuit-breakers).
Higher levels of fuse protection can
result in cable fire or structural fire
damage.
Attention:
The device must be
connected to a power source with
the fuse as specified above. If the
electrode holder and earth terminal are
short circuited, the fuse can trigger in
16-20 seconds. Classification in accord-
ance with the EMC Directive: Class B in
accordance with IEC 60974-10.

Maintenance
Remove dust and contamination from
the device regularly.
Clean the device and accessories
with a fine brush or a dry cloth.
