2.3.5 Sampling Assembly
To prepare the sampling assembly for use:
1. Cut an appropriate length of tubing to connect between the
FTIR3 Oil Analyzer
and the waste
receptacle.
2. Insert in/out fitting nut and yellow ferrule. This is the OUT tubing as shown in Figure 2-4.

3. Cut a 5 cm length of tubing and repeat the previous step for both ends. Screw the Luer fitting on to
one end. This is the IN tubing as shown in Figure 2-5.

4. Fit onto sampling cell as shown in Figure 2-6. Close the remaining port with the blanking plug as
shown. Screw in the fittings such that they are hand-tight. The IN and OUT fittings may be swapped
if desired, but this setup reflects best practise in minimising the introduction of air bubbles during
sampling.
