Wind resistance classes

The awning meets Wind Resistance Class 1.

The awning must be retracted as from wind

force 5 (Wind Resistance Class 2) and/or

wind force 4 (Wind Resistance Class 1).

The awning manufacturers must test their

products for wind resistance and declare the

correct wind resistance class. DIN EN 13561

defines corresponding wind resistance clas

ses with their allocated wind forces accor-

ding to Beaufort. If no test has been perfor-

med and/or Wind Resistance Class 1 has not

been reached, the awning must be given

Wind Resistance Class 0.

The following table shows the wind resistan-

ce classes in accordance with DIN EN 13561

and their allocated wind forces according to

Beaufort.

Use of awnings in windy regions

When using motorised awnings in

windy regions or in regions with fre-

quent power cuts, it is recommended to use

motors with a manual emergency crank or

emergency power supply.
Motorised awnings without a manual emer-

gency crank or emergency power supply

cannot be retracted during a power cut and

could therefore be severely damaged or

destroyed!
