THE HISTORY
Since 1860, the company Guido Panerai & Figlio, suppliers to the Royal Italian
Navy, had been producing instruments of high precision and technological
sophistication. As a result, the name of Panerai has become indissolubly
linked with the marine environment, the measurement of time and space, and
the development of an elevated standard of quality and reliability, a
fundamental requirement of the equipment supplied to the military.
Panerai began to produce watches in 1938 with the Radiomir. This watch
made history through the heroic exploits of the commandos of the Italian Navy
who wore it on their wrists.
The Panerai Luminor quickly became a military legend, both on account of its
reliability and the originality of its design, and also because the total of a few
hundred units produced by Panerai became, together with the first Radiomirs,
rarities highly sought after by collectors.
In 1993 Officine Panerai offered its watches for the first time on the
international market, and the Luminor and Radiomir models rapidly became
the unquestioned leaders in the high quality sports watch sector.
Executed through its own manufacture, today’s ranges consist of
technologically avant-garde, extremely reliable products. These watches
share the same criteria of craftsmanship as ever and they are tested to meet
ever more demanding requirements.

THE PANERAI RADIOMIR 10 DAYS GMT WATCH
The Panerai Radiomir 10 Days GMT is a Special Edition of 300 pieces dedicated
to the Officine Panerai boutiques. The watch has all the salient characteristics
of the Radiomir, the most classic of Officine Panerai models, designed and
constructed for military use three-quarters of a century ago. Further to all the
technical characteristics of the original, this model has two time zones, date,
10-day power reserve and above all a high-end movement entirely designed
and built in-house by Officine Panerai in Neuchâtel.

HE CASE
The case of the Panerai Radiomir 10 Days GMT watch, which is made of AISI
316L stainless steel, is 47mm in diameter and has the characteristic cushion
form, typical of Panerai.
In the construction of the case, Panerai has made use of manufacturing
techniques involving many complex operations which ensure a remarkable
aesthetic finish and at the same time great resistance in terms of water-
resistance and shock-resistance. The screw-down crown is conical in shape
and personalised Panerai. The crystal is of sapphire, obtained from corundum,
a very hard material (second only to diamond), free of impurities, transparent,
abrasion resistant, and with anti-reflective treatment. The screw-in back has a
sapphire crystal window, enabling the movement and its haute horlogerie
finish to be admired. Engraved on it are the case number, the individual
sequential identification number with the number of the edition, the material,
and the maximum depth of immersion. The water-resistance of your watch is
guaranteed to a pressure of 10 bar, which corresponds to the hydrostatic
pressure exerted by a column of water on 1 square centimetre at a depth of
100 metres under normal conditions. In these circumstances your watch is
therefore water-resistant to a depth of about 100 metres.
