Shutdown - Power LED Blinks 9X
If the power LED blinks 9X and repeats, the problem is caused by non-detected color
wheel rotation. Refer to figure 37. If the color wheel motor speed is out of range, or
there is no sensed rotation, the TV shuts down. Since the color wheel is synronized to
the input video, excessive noise in the video will shift the color wheel motor out of its
speed range. Select an unused input to test.
When the color wheel rotates
produce
approximately 180Hz at DG15/pin 7 from its rotation sensor. If the wheel is not rotating,
refer to the color wheel section of this guide for waveform samples of the drive signals.
Shutdown - Power LED Blinks 6X,
If the power LED blinks 6X, 7X, or 8X and repeats, the problem is caused by a
communications failure on the digital DG board itself or by absence of power applied to
the DG board. Refer to figure 36 for details of the shutdown but refer to the power-on
section of this guide for a simplified power distibution path (figure 9) to chec
the DG board. If all the voltages are present, then the DG board is suspect.
Within the DG board, if there is no acknowledgement from an IC after 3 communica
attempts, the microprocessor shuts down the TV, as the global core (GC3) ICs must
function. Otherwise, there will be no picture.
