CHECKING THE TV UNIT

Pull out the TV Unit from the unit with all connector
cables connected as they are.

Refer to TV Unit Service Position, Figure 4.

Refer to Base C.B.A. Service Position, Figure 5.

Check for short-circuit of following points with the tester.

TP1116 (ATSC+9V)
TP1117 (ATSC+5V)
TP1118 (SW+5V)
TP1119 (REG+3.3V)
TP1120 (REG+2.5V)

Check for short-circuit of following points with the tester.

TP1116 (ATSC+9V)
TP1117 (ATSC+5V)
TP1118 (SW+5V)
TP1119 (REG+3.3V)
TP1120 (REG+2.5V)

Short-circuit in step 1 & step 2

Check for short-circuit voltage line on the
Main C.B.A. Repair if necessary.

Check for short-circuit voltage line on the
Base C.B.A. Repair if necessary.

No short-circuit in step 2 but
short-circuit in step 1

Check for short-circuit voltage line on the
Base C.B.A. Repair if necessary.

Short-circuit

Unplug AC Cord.
Disconnect all connector cables on the Base C.B.A.,
then take out the Base C.B.A. from the TV unit.

Refer to Base C.B.A. and Power C.B.A.
Service Position, Figure 6.

Connect the Base C.B.A. and Power C.B.A.

Plug in the AC Cord.

Check the following parts and the surrounding parts
on the Base C.B.A.

PR1102, PR1103, IC1103, Q1101-Q1114

Replace any defective parts.

Check for short-circuit of following points with the tester.

Check the voltage at the following points on the Base
C.B.A.

TP1103

: STBY+5V

: 5V

P1101 (Pin 3)

: ATSC ON(H) : 3.3V

TP1106 (or TP1116) : REG+9V

: 9V

TP1107 (or TP1117) : REG+5V

: 5V

Plug in the AC Cord and turn the power ON.

Plug in the AC Cord.

IC1103 (Pin 1 - Pin 3, Pin1 - Pin 26, Pin 3 - Pin 26),
IC1105 (Pin 1 - Pin 3, Pin1 - Pin 26, Pin 3 - Pin 26),
IC1106 (Pin 1 - Pin 3, Pin1 - Pin 26, Pin 3 - Pin 26),
IC1101 (Pin 4 - Pin 5)

PR1101, PR1102, PR1103

Check the following parts with the tester.

Replace any defective parts.

Connect a jumper wire between TP1102 and TP1103
on the Base C.B.A.by soldering.

Unplug the AC Cord.
Connect a jumper wire between TP1104 and TP1103
on the Base C.B.A. by soldering.

There is no problem with the TV Unit. Remove the jumper
wire between TP1102 and TP1103, TP1103 and TP1104.

Check the following parts and the surrounding parts
on the Base C.B.A.

PR1101, IC1105, IC1106

Replace any defective parts.

Check the voltage at the following points on the Base
C.B.A.

TP1108 (or TP1118) : STBY+5V

: 5V

TP1109 (or TP1119) : ATSC ON(H) : 3.3V
TP1110 (or TP1120) : REG+9V

: 9V
