To Set the Audio Mode to Be Used During
Playback
1 Press the MENU button U to display the Main menu on
the TV screen.
2 Press the Cursor buttons

) R to select
“Functions” and “Audio mode”
in this order. Then, select the
“Audio mode” field.
3 Press the Cursor buttons (

) R to select the type of
audio mode to be used during playback.
NORMAL: Normally select this setting.
MIX:
Use this setting when playing back a
cassette tape on which audio dubbing has
been performed. The Hi-Fi sound track with
the original sound and the normal sound
track (mono) with the audio-dubbed sound
and sound using AV insert function are
played back together.
4 Press the OK button T to conclude the setting.
5 Press the EXIT button S to exit the On Screen Display.
To Play Back a Video Cassette in the Same
Format as That Used for Recording
1 Press the MENU button U to display the Main menu on
the TV screen.
2 Press the Cursor buttons

“Functions” and “S-VHS P.B.”
and in this order. Then, select
the “S-VHS P.B.” field.
3 Press the Cursor buttons (

) R to select the format of
the cassette that you want to play back.
AUTO: In this setting, the VCR automatically detects the
format in which the recording was made and
selects the same format for playback.
Normally select this setting.
ON: To play back a cassette recorded in the S-VHS
format
OFF: To play back a cassette recorded in the VHS
format
4 Press the OK button T to conclude the setting.
5 Press the EXIT button S to exit the On Screen Display.
