4.1. Canopy Cover

The canopy cover has a place on each of the four (4) corners
where it is locked in place.

4.1.1. Removal

 1. Place a very small flat blade screwdriver under the side

corner as indicated by the arrow in the illustration.

 2. Pry out until the corner stays out.

 3. After popping this corner loose move the screwdriver to the

rear corner on the same side.

 4. Place the screwdriver under the canopy cover in the same

position as the other end was done.

 5. Hold the cord reel bracket and pull enough of the power

cord out to get the canopy cover out of the way.

 6. Once the corners are free on one side there is no need to

pry on the other side.

 7. Raise the cover towards the opposite side until it comes off.

4.1.2. Replacement

 1. Set the canopy cover in position and tap down on the two

(2) corners closest to the power cord end.

 2. Tap the other end down to seat both corners.

4.2. CANISTER MOTOR

The canister motor can be replaced in its entirety or it can be
serviced by replacing the fan assembly or the carbon motor
brushes. Follow the preceding instructions to gain access to the
motor.

4.2.1. Removal

 1. Remove the canister hood, canopy cover, motor shield,

cord reel button, switch button and cord reel lock assembly

(Canister) for parts identification).

 2. Remove the two (2) canopy screws at the rear of the

canopy.

 3. Lift up the canopy and rock it towards the front of the

cleaner to remove.

NOTE: Be sure red belt protector button extension is in
place and aligned in cover opening.

 4. Remove the two (2) switch wires.

 5. Hold the cord reel bracket and pull enough of the power

cord out to get the canopy cover out of the way.

 6. Secure the power cord to prevent retracting as you are

servicing the motor.

 7. Remove the two (2) switch wires.

 8. Remove the wire nuts.

 9. Take loose the white and black motor wires.

CAUTION: Note the position of the metal motor plate;
part of the plate has a rubber protrusion with a small
hole that mounts over a plastic peg when reinstalling
the motor.

NOTE: The motor should be positioned with the thermal
protector facing towards the front of the canister.

4.3. CORD REEL

4.3.1. Removal

 1. Disconnect both cord reel wires.

assembly the black brake part will have to be removed.

 4. Do this by prying it out of the retainers.
