3.5.2.
Installation
1. Fit the nozzle from the motor shaft side first, and rotate it
into place on the dust container.
2. Rotate nozzle shaft into groove on dust container.
3. Place floor nozzle spring into slot on dust compartment.
4. Replace motor support cover and motor case. Secure
with four (4) screws that were removed earlier.
5. Reinstall dust cover as outlined in Dust Cover Removal
and Replacement section.
3.6.
Lower Plate Replacement
3.6.1.
Removal
1. Place the Carpet/Bare Floor pedal in the carpet position
and the handle in the upright position.
2. Turn the vacuum cleaner over exposing the underside.
Release lower plate by pressing two (2) latches and two
(2) locking tabs inward as shown.
3. Remove the lower plate and remove any residue that may
exist in the belt area.
3.6.2.
Installation
1. Reinstall lower plate by hooking front end of lower plate
into slots on front of nozzle housing.
2. Press lower plate until locking tabs snap into place then
push the two (2) latches outward.
NOTE:
For general servicing, it is necessary to eliminate
pinching of any wire during reassembly. After servicing
any electrical component or electrical enclosure, the vac-
uum cleaner should be reassembled and checked for
dielectric breakdown or current leakage.
3.7.
Beater Bar Replacement
3.7.1.
Removal
1. Place the carpet-bare floor selector in the CARPET posi-
tion.
2. Remove the lower plate as outlined in the LOWER
PLATE REPLACEMENT and BELT REPLACEMENT sec-
tions.
3. Position hands on beater bar. If the belt is still attached to
the beater bar, there will be tension on it.
4. Carefully lift the left end of the beater bar and then lift the
right end.
5. Remove the beater bar from the belt loop.
3.7.2.
Installation
1. Reinstall new belt if necessary.
2. To replace beater bar assembly, place the belt around the
motor shaft as outline in the BELT REPLACEMENT sec-
tion.
3. Loop the other end of the belt over the belt pulley on the
beater bar assembly.
4. Insert the beater bar by placing the rounded portion of the
end caps down into the slots in the nozzle cover.
5. Press firmly, checking to see that each end is completely
inserted.
6. Check to see that the belt is centered on the belt pulley
and that the beater bar turns freely.
7. Replace the lower plate as outlined in the LOWER PLATE
REPLACEMENT section.
