Useful Information

Troubleshooting

If you still have difficulties after following the instructions in this section, disconnect
the base unit’s AC adaptor and turn off the handset, then reconnect the base unit’s
AC adaptor and turn on the handset.

General use

Settings and security

Problem

Cause/solution

The handset does not
automatically turn on after
installing/replacing battery.

The battery is empty or too weak to turn on the
power. Place the handset on the base unit or
charger, and let it charge.

The unit does not work.

Make sure the SIM card is installed correctly
(page 9).

Make sure the batteries are installed correctly
(page 10).

Fully charge the batteries (page 10).

Check the connections (page 10).

Unplug the base unit’s AC adaptor to reset the
unit and turn off the handset. Reconnect the
adaptor, turn on the handset and try again.

The handset has not been registered to the
base unit. Register the handset (page 27).

The handset phonebook
entries I copied from the SIM
card are not displayed
correctly.

Only characters shown in the character entry
tables (page 33) can be displayed.

I cannot use the text message
(SMS) service.

Contact your service provider for availability of
this service.
