10 Help Error Messages
10.1 Error messages – Reports
If a problem occurs during fax transmission or reception, one of the following messages will be printed on the sending
and journal reports (page 45).

again or check with the other party.

A line problem occurred. Connect the telephone line
cord to a different socket and try again.

An overseas transmission error occurred. Try using
the overseas mode (feature #411 on page 62).

Remove the jammed document (page 104).

A transmission or reception error occurred because
of a problem with the other party’s fax machine.
Check with the other party.
Junk Fax Proh. Reject -----

The junk fax prohibitor feature of this unit rejected
fax reception.
Memory Full -----

The memory is full of received documents due to a
lack of recording paper or a recording paper jam.
Install paper (page 16) or remove the jammed paper
(page 99).

If feature #442 is set to “
Always
” (page 65), check
the connection between the computer and the unit.

If feature #448 is set to “

” (page 65), the memory
is full of received documents. View, print or save the
documents, and then erase unnecessary
documents (page 51).
No Document/Failed Pickup -----

The document was not fed into the unit properly. Re-
insert it and try again.
Other Fax not responding -----

The other party’s fax machine is busy or has run out
of recording paper. Try again.

The other party’s fax machine rings too many times.
Send the fax manually (page 44).

The other party’s machine is not a fax machine.
Check with the other party.

The number you dialled is not in service.
