How do I archive my recordings from the HDD
onto a disc in real time?
Copying Titles – Real Time
If a programme cannot be copied in high speed mode, then it must be copied in
real time. This means that it will take as long to copy the programme as it would
to watch the programme. So it will take 2 hours to copy a 2-hour programme, 3
hours to copy a 3-hour programme, etc.
There are many reasons why a programme might not copy in high speed. The
two most common reasons for this are:
• The programme must be converted from one recording mode to another (for
example, from SP mode to EP mode).
• There are multiple aspect ratios in the programme. This most commonly
occurs when the programme is broadcast in 4:3 mode and the adverts are
broadcast in 16:9 mode. When editing the adverts out of the programme, be
sure to delete any parts of the programme that are in 16:9 mode.
