Important Battery Tips
This computer’s battery pack has a function for measuring, storing and learning about the status of its battery charge. To
display the remaining battery charge accurately, use the Battery Recalibration function to fully charge the battery, then
completely discharge it.
This procedure should be performed once after you purchase the computer. As you use the battery pack over a long
period of time, the remaining capacity display may become inaccurate due to aging of the battery pack and other factors.
The procedure described below should be performed again.
1
After installing the battery pack, connect the AC adaptor.
Remove all peripheral devices except for the battery pack and AC adaptor.
2
Close all applications.
3
Perform the Battery Recalibration.
A
Click [start]
- [All Programs] - [Panasonic] - [Battery]
- [Battery Recalibration].
B
At the confirmation message, click [Start].
z
Performing the Battery Recalibration at frequent intervals will degrade the battery pack. As a general
guideline, perform the Battery Recalibration once every three months. A message urging caution will appear
when the Battery Recalibration is to be performed again in less than a month or so since it was last per-
formed. In a case like this, do not perform the Battery Recalibration.
C
The display will ask you to shut down Windows. Click [Yes].
The Battery Recalibration will begin.
After the battery pack is fully charged, discharging begins. When the discharging is completed, the Battery
Recalibration terminates, and the power automatically goes off.
When the Battery Recalibration is completed, charging begins.
