To change the drive letter of hard disk or CD/DVD drive
NOTE
Drive letters of hard disk can be changed only when two or more partitions have been created on the hard disk drive.
The name of the C: drive cannot be changed.
Change the drive letters before installing applications.

Click [start] - [Control Panel] - [Performance and Maintenance] - [Administrative Tools], and double-click [Compu-
ter Management].

Click (Start) - [Control Panel] - [System and Maintenance] - [Administrative Tools], and double-click [Compu-
ter Management].
• A standard user needs to enter an administrator password.

Click [Disk Management] from [Storage].

Right-click the hard disk partition or the CD/DVD drive name, and click [Change Drive Letter and Paths...].

Click [Change...].

Click [Assign the following drive letter] and select the new drive letter, and then click [OK].
At the confirmation message, click [Yes].

Follow the steps below to install Windows Vista.
1 Reinstall Windows XP to the whole HDD to factory default. ( page 27, step 1-10)
2 When the message [[Recovery] is complete.] appears, remove the Product Recovery
DVD-ROM for Windows XP, and set the Product Recovery DVD-ROM for Windows Vista.
3 Press any key to turn off the computer.
If you turn off the computer without replacing the Product Recovery DVD-ROM or performing first-time operation
for Windows XP, refer to step
1 - 7 “Reinstalling Software” ( page 27), and boot the computer from the Product
Recovery DVD-ROM for Windows Vista.
4 Turn on the computer.
5 Perform the reinstallation for Windows Vista from step 8 ( page 28).
