Precautions for system connections

Bear in mind the following points when
connecting the camera recorder and unit as a
system.

$

Do not input signals to the GENLOCK IN connector
of the camera recorder.

$

Do not connect both the unit and an ECU
(extension control unit: AJ-EC3P) to the camera
recorder at the same time.

$

Some of the camera recorder’s selector switches
(including GAIN, CAM BAR SW, WHITE BAL and
SHUTTER) will have no effect.

$

Any functions not listed below, if allocated to the
camera recorder’s USER buttons (USER MAIN,
USER1 and USER2), will have no effect.

$

All settings established for items on the USER SW
GAIN screen on the OPERATION page will have no
effect.

$

Even when OFF settings are selected for the
SHUTTER SPEED items of the camera recorder,
they will all be changed to ON settings.

$

When inputting the return signal to the unit and
monitoring it on the viewfinder of the camera
recorder, the viewfinder image may be disrupted at
the moment when the RET button on the lens is
pressed.

$

When the OUTPUT SEL switch on the camera
recorder is set to the OFF position, no signals will
be output from the MON OUT connector.

$

The microphone which is used for INCOM (Inter-
Communication) is set to the “carbon type” (at the
factory).  Switching to the “dynamic type” requires a
change in the position of one of the unit’s internal
switches.
For details, consult your dealer.

$

The gain value will be set to low even when the
GAIN selector switch on the camera recorder is at
the “M” or “H” position.
It will also be set to low after the power of the
camera recorder is switched from OFF to ON.

$

When the camera recorder is detached from the
unit, the settings of the camera recorder will be
restored as the unit’s GAIN switch, WHITE BAL
switch and SHUTTER switch settings.

$

Before performing the system adjustments for all
the devices connected, turn on the power of the
camera recorder.

$

If, while a menu is displayed, the unit’s
START/STOP button or VTR START/STOP button
on the camera recorder is pressed, the unit’s SET
UP lamp will light, but the menu display will be
cleared from the screen.
To display the menu again, set the SET UP button
from OFF to ON.

$

MAIN MENU contains the menu items which can be
operated using this unit.  The menu items on other
menus such as USER MENU and OPTION MENU
are not displayed.

$

Normal composite signals are output from the unit’s
MONITOR connector.
The viewfinder images cannot be checked at the
MONITOR connector.
Check the following menu settings on the
viewfinder of the camera recorder.
