Chapter 4. Parts Replacement
4.1 Introduction
The XGF868i has been designed to permit easy on-site upgrades and parts replacement. See Figure 6 on page 29 for
details of the standard XGF868i electronics enclosure assembly. The instructions in this chapter, along with a few
common tools, are all that is required to perform the following tasks:
• Removing the circuit board assembly
• Replacing the LCD display/interconnect subassembly
• Replacing the fuse
• Replacing the User Program
• Installing an option card
• Assembling/installing the circuit board assembly
IMPORTANT: For compliance with the EU Low Voltage Directive, this unit requires an external power disconnect device
such as a switch or circuit breaker. The disconnect device must be marked as such, clearly visible,
directly accessible, and located within 1.8 m (6 ft) of the unit.
Use Figure 6 on page 29 , Figure 7 on page 30 and Figure 8 on page 31 to locate the relevant components, while
completing the service procedures discussed in this chapter.
IMPORTANT: Keep a detailed record of all parts installations and replacements performed on the XGF868i in
Appendix A, Service Record. This service history will be helpful in diagnosing any future problems.
WARNING!
Prior to performing any maintenance procedures, be sure to disconnect the main
power from the unit. If the XGF868i is installed in a hazardous environment, the
electronics enclosure must be moved to a safe area prior to removing the covers. If
the electronics enclosure cannot be moved to a safe area, ensure that the
surrounding area is free of ignitable gases.
