Appendix 3. Probe Hanger

 

 
Aquaprobes and Micro 800 Probes can be used with up to 100m of cable.  
 
When  using  long  cable  lengths,  especially  down  boreholes,  it  is  advisable  to  support  the 
Probe on a separate steel cable using a Probe Hanger. 
 
To attach a Probe Hanger to an Palintest Probe, first remove the cable gland collar (if fitted) 
then remove the top plastic nut that is attached to the top of the Probe and slide them both 
a little way up the cable. Ensure the bottom nut is tight against the top of the probe. 
 
Slide the Probe Hanger over the cable then down onto the threaded part of the Probe. 
 
Bring the top nut down onto the thread, then use the Probe Hanger as a spanner to tighten 
the nut. Re-fit and tighten the cable gland collar. The final assembly should be as shown
