EQUIREMENTS
Refer to
for information about using the MODE and SEL buttons or the Maintenance
Terminal screens to configure the HLU. While the MODE and SEL buttons can be used to manually accomplish
some provisioning tasks, such as setting system options, the Maintenance Terminal screens (available when you
connect a PC to the craft port) can handle all provisioning tasks.
Tasks that you need to complete are:

Setting the time and date (see

Setting the circuit ID numbers (see

Assuming that the HLU has been successfully installed and provisioned, you should do the following to ensure an
accurate Alarm History and Performance History.

Clear the Span Status, Performance Data, and Performance History screens. This can be accomplished by
pressing
(clear) at the Span Status screen (see
“View Span Status Screen” on page 16
).

Clear the Alarm History screens (see
“View Alarm History Screen” on page 35
