Saw Blades

Always ensure the tool is switched off and unplugged before installing or removing a
blade. Clean out all debris or foreign matter adhering to the blade and blade holder.
Failure to do so may cause insufficient tightening of the blade, resulting in a serious injury.

The reciprocating saw can cut a large variety of materials but the correct blade must
be used.  Always ensure the correct blade is used for the required job.

Insertion and Removal of Saw Blades

Disconnect the saws power cord from the mains power socket prior to making
any adjustments.

To install a blade, loosen the blade holder allen key screw using the allen key supplied.
Loosen the allen key screw on the side of the housing through the screw access slot
(see line drawing on page 2). Once loosened you should be able to insert a blade
through the hole in the shoe into the blade holder. The blade has a hole in the end
which should be placed over the notch in the blade holder. Generally the teeth of the
blade should face towards the bottom of the saw but the blade can be reversed in the
blade holder so the teeth face upwards. Tighten the allen key screw through the screw
access slot. Once tightened, pull the blade to ensure it is secured sufficiently and
cannot be extracted. Blades are sharp, use gloves to avoid accidentally cutting yourself.

To remove a blade, reverse the above process.

Warning!

If you do not tighten the blade holder allen key screw sufficiently the

blade may be ejected unexpectedly during operation. This could potentially cause
serious personal injury or injury to others. Always ensure the blade is secured
properly before beginning operation.

Adjusting the Shoe

Disconnect the saws power cord from the mains power socket prior to making
any adjustments.

If the blade loses its cutting efficiency in one place along its cutting edge, reposition
the shoe to utilise a sharper, unused portion of the blades cutting edge. This will help
to lengthen the life of the blade. To reposition the shoe, use the allen key supplied to
loosen the two allen screws on the underside of the ribbed rubber boot (see line
drawing page 2) and slide the shoe forward or back to the desired position. Then
tighten the two allen screws firmly to secure the shoe in place.

On/Off Switch

To turn the tool on, squeeze the switch. To turn the tool off, release the switch. The
switch is spring loaded and will return to the off position as soon as it is released.
Always squeeze and release the switch before connecting it to a power supply, this will
ensure the lock on button is not engaged.

Lock On Button

The saw has been designed with a lock on button for longer sessions of use. This
button locks the switch in the on position to reduce user fatigue and allow the user to
focus on the task at hand. To activate the lock on button, first squeeze the on/off
switch, depress the lock on button and then release the switch. The switch will remain
locked on. To unlock the switch and turn off the saw, simply squeeze and release
the switch.
