5.3 Initial Operation
Setting the fl ow volume
using calculated preset values
Turn the handwheel to a
preset
value
to regulate the fl ow volume
required for the line.

The
preset values depend
on the parameters of the sys-
tem in which the valve is installed. If the
volume fl ow
and
pressure loss
are known, you can determine the preset
values by using the
fl ow rate diagrams
in the appendix to
these instructions.
Before initial operation, the sys-
tem must be fi lled and deaera-
ted.
WARNING
Danger from overpressure
and leaking medium!
Overpressure in the system
can result in injuries from
parts suddenly coming
loose and media escaping
in an uncontrolled fashion.
Maintain the admissible
operating pressures.
Perform a leakage test.
