5. Installation
& Initial Operation
5.1 Basic Information
Do
not
use the valve
in drinking water lines.
The valve can be installed in any
orientation in either the supply
or return pipe.
WARNING
Risk of injury from
hot / cold surfaces!
There is a risk of burns
from coming into contact
with the system.
Before all work, allow
the system section to
cool down
until
surfaces can be touched
without risk of injury.
CAUTION
Risk of cuts from
sharp edges!
Threads, bores, and pipe
edges may cause cuts.
Wear safety gloves.
WARNING
Danger from fi ttings
under pressure!
Working
on an operating
HVAC
system is danger-
ous. Liquid when under
pressure can be very
hot
,
and its uncontrolled release
can result in severe injuries.
Perform all work on a
depressurized and
cooled-off system only.
Shut down the system
section and allow liquid
to drain in a controlled
fashion.
Wear safety glasses
and gloves.
