Determining a contracture using the Thomas-test

•

Flex contralateral knee and contralateral hip

•

Bring the amputated leg into hip flexion until the hollow of the back
vanishes

•

Bring the residual limb carefully down until the lumbar spine lifts-off

→

Make sure that the residual limb does not go into an abduction

•

Measure contracture in degrees

flat hand
