There may be certain non-metallic utensils that are not safe to use with microwaves. If in doubt, you can test the utensil in question
by following the procedures below. Utensil Testing
1. Fill a safe container with a cup of cold water (250 ml) together with the utensil in question.
2. Cook at maximum power for 1 minute.
3. Carefully touch the utensil. If the empty utensil is hot, do not use it for microwave cooking.
4. Do not exceed the test time more than 1 minute.
For protection only. Small smooth pieces may be used to cover thin pieces of
meat or poultry to prevent overcooking. Arcing may occur if the foil is too close
to the oven walls. The foil should be at least 2.5 cm from the oven walls.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions. The bottom of the tray must be at least 5
mm above the turntable. Incorrect use may cause the turntable to break.
Use only microwave-safe utensils. Follow manufacturer's instructions. Do not
use broken or chipped dishes.
Always remove the lid. Use only for heating food to just the right temperature.
Most jugs are not heat resistant and may break.
Use only glassware resistant to the heat of the oven. Make sure there are no
metal decorations. Do not use broken or chipped dishes.
