There are two ways to add a spectrum to a library. The first one, open your spectrum,
click the
Add to library
button, then select the library where you want to store your spectrum.
You can only add spectra to user libraries, so you should create one beforehand. A library
cannot contain same spectra, so your attempt to add the same spectrum twice will result in
an error message.
The second way is to drag your spectrum from its folder to the library. You should open
a user library in one list, and spectrum folder in another, then drag one of the spectra to the
first list.
Troubleshooting
All troubles listed below are described with their names, manifestations, causes and
remedies. If none helps, please contact your supplier.
1.
Fault:
no connection to the device.
Manifestation:
in case of a single error, the
program shows a message "
Failed to connect to the device...
" When the program
is restarted and there is still no connection, the message will not show up in
order not to disturb the user if the latter does not use the device on purpose,
however, the window bottom right corner will display a disconnected connector
icon instead of a shaking green spot. The log will be supplemented with line
ft801: r= -1
...
Possible causes:
(a) the device is off, (b) there is no connection
through the USB cable or it is unreliable, (c)
IROS
device driver is missing, (d)
another instance of
ZaIR 3.5
is running and occupying the device.
Remedies:
First, make sure that the device is on and connected to the computer with a
cable. Then restart the program. If it does not help, unplug and plug the USB
cable back in. Next, turn off the device, wait for a minute, turn it on again, and
restart the program. If it does not help, restart the computer.
2.
Fault:
scan failure.
Manifestation:
the green spot at bottom right will be
replaced with an icon corresponding to the error type, and the log will be
supplemented with its code. Most often, this is a short scan (Code 5) or weak
laser signal (Code 3).
Possible causes:
device case shaking, workplace
vibrations etc.
Remedies:
do not subject your device to any mechanical impact,
make sure that the table is stable. If faults occur regularly despite no apparent
reason, especially increasing when working with high resolutions, the device
might need adjusting by the manufacturer.
3.
Fault:
connection with the device lost.
Manifestation:
after a period of normal
device operation, appears a message: "
Lost connection with the device...
"
Possible causes:
(a) electromagnetic interference with the device-to-computer
communication channel, (b) computer overloaded, the device fails to transfer
data in time.
Remedies:
restart the program or unplug and plug in the USB port
again. If lost connections keep occurring, you might need a shorter or ECM-
resistant cable, place it a maximum distance from the other devices.
4.
Fault:
no data transfer to the computer.
Manifestation:
the green light on the
device is flashing, the interferometer carriage is moving, but the spot in the
software window stands still with no error messages. If you click the spectrum-
recording button, the result will not appear in the window.
Possible causes:
device driver data overrun or device fault.
Remedies:
unplug and plug the USB
cable back in or, at worst, turn the device off for a while.
