Notes on classic LP discs
Handling of gramophone discs
• Hold the disc only at the edges to prevent contamination of the surface. Do not touch the surface
of the disc and grooves. Dirt and mechanical damage reduce reproduction quality.
• Do not attach anything to the surface of the disc.
• Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight or heat sources, such as air conditioning ducts, or leave
it in a parked car in the sun because the interior temperature may increase significantly.
• After playing, place the disc in their packaging.
• Store the disc in a vertical position. They may be damaged when stored horizontally.
• Store the discs away from dusty and vibration-free areas.
Cleaning
• Before playing, clean the disc with a soft and dry antistatic cloth. Clean the plate along the
grooves.
• Do not use solvents such as petrol, thinner, commercially available cleaners.
Replacing the pick up with a needle
The needle has an average life of approximately 50 hours in normal use. We recommend
replacing the pick up as soon as you notice a deterioration in sound quality (distortion). Using a
damaged needle can damage the discs. At the highest speed of 78 rpm. the needle wears faster.
Notifications
• Do not bend the pick up.
• Do not touch the needle directly.
• Unplug the power supply before replacing the pick up.
• Keep pick up out of reach of children.
• Do not place the pick-up unit near heat sources.
