10. Maintenance and care
Cleaning and care
Please note that this high-quality product requires care and maintenance.
The SmartNose itself is maintenance-free except for battery replacement!
The Robert Koch Institute recommends: „Washing lotion dispensers must be thoroughly
cleaned and disinfected before refilling.“ [Source: Communication of the Commission for
Hospital Hygiene and Infection Prevention at the Robert Koch Institute].
Clean the SmartNose from the outside only. Wipe the unit with a damp cloth moistened
only with water. Remove dried-on product residues regularly. Use disinfectant wipes that are
compatible with plastic (wet wipes).
Do not disassemble the unit for cleaning!
• Do not immerse the unit in water or expose it to splashing water.
• The appliance is not autoclavable and cannot be cleaned in the dishwasher.
11. Battery
If the battery LED lights up red during operation of the dispenser, the capacity is low.
Warning
Significant hazards may result from improper battery replacement. This unit con -
tains a lithium battery that cannot be recharged.
• Never connect this battery to a charger.
• The battery must not be short-circuited.
• Dispose of empty batteries in line with local policy and protocol.
Dangerous goods
The lithium battery inside the SmartNose is a dangerous good. In case of return
of dangerous goods, legal regulations apply. The return must be made in suitable
packaging with full hazardous goods labelling. Do not ship units with damaged
lithium batteries!
Spare battery
Operate the device only with an original battery, which is also available as a spare part.
