4.8.2  Performing the automatic battery tests 

Automatic  battery  tests  are  performed  every  30 days,  provided  this 
option  was  activated.  During  the  battery  test,  the  UPS  system 
switches  to  battery  mode  and  discharges  the  batteries  for 
25 seconds with the available load. 

 

NOTE 

The "UPS on Battery" message and the "Battery Low" warn-
ing message are not displayed during a battery test. 

 
To perform automatic battery tests: 

 

The "Automatic Battery Support Tests" must be activated 

 

The UPS system must be in normal mode and no warning 
messages are active 

 

The batteries must be fully charged 

 

The bypass voltage must be acceptable 

 

No manual battery test was previously initiated in the same 
charging cycle 

In order for the battery tests to pass successfully, the battery voltage 
must remain above the threshold value during discharging. 

4.8.3  Configuring the automatic restart 

After  the  UPS  system  shuts  down  (e.g.  due  to  flat  batteries  in 
the event of a power failure), the UPS system is restarted automati-
cally if the power supply returns. 

You can set how long the UPS system should wait after resumption 
of  the  mains  power  supply  before  the  load  segments  are  restarted. 
Use the "Automatic Start Delay" setting for this.  You can also config-
ure the restart of the UPS system so that this is based on the battery 
charge  state.  To  do  this,  use  the  "Battery  Charge  %  to  Restart"  set-
ting.
