Temperature control
• Your heater is also fitted with a thermostat. This is the large rotary knob situated
above the heat switch. Your heater will maintain the room temperature you select
by turning the knob. Turn it clockwise for a warmer and counterclockwise for a
cooler room temperature.
•
When the desired room temperature is reached, the thermostat will automatically
switch off the top two elements and the bottom element (for position “III” only).
For safety reasons, the second bottom element will glow continuously.
•
If the room temperature drops below the set level, the thermostat will
automatically switch the two top elements and the bottom element (for position
“III” only) back on and so forth, maintaining your desired comfort level.
NOTE:
The thermostat will only operate when the heat switch is in position “II” and “III”.
Hints when using the heater
• Maintain a clearance of at least 1m from the unit (during operation) to prevent
contact burns.
•
CAUTION
: This heater is not suitable to for use on long pile carpets or flokati rugs.
• Care should be taken if the heater is used on short pile carpet. We recommend
putting a thick piece of hardwood under the heater to prevent the carpet from
scorching.
• To prevent the heater from causing a fire, place it least 1m away from combustible
material such as paper bins, desks, curtains, long pile carpet.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The heater requires regular cleaning to ensure trouble-free operation:
•
Before cleaning, unplug the heater from the mains supply and ensure it has cooled
down completely.
•
Use a damp cloth (not wet) to wipe the exterior of the heater to remove dust and dirt.
• For maximum performance, the reflector must be kept clean.
First remove the grille
by unscrewing the four screws at the front. Then clean the reflector body with a
soft, damp cloth, using a small quantity of mild detergent. Take care not to splash
any water in the heater as this can cause a short circuit or electric shock. Never use
solutions such as benzene, thinners or polishing agents.
• Use the soft brush attachment of a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and fluff from
around the air vents and grilles.
• Ensure the heater is dry before plugging it back into the mains supply.
