SETTING INTO OPERATION
1
Prior to switching on, turn the output controls to minimum to avoid
damage to the hearing by a volume which is too high when switching
on. Then switch on the mixer with the power switch PWR. The power
indicator lights up. Switch on the connected units. After operation,
switch off the unit with the power switch.
2
The USB port allows transmission of digital audio signals in both
directions between the mixer and the computer. As soon as the mixer
is connected to a computer, it will be recognized as a standard USB
audio device for audio input and output. You can control the mixer
using the standard audio interface controls in the Mac and Windows
operating system. Make the required adjustments in your
playback/recording software
Note: If the mixer is connected to both a computer and to a unit grounded via the
mains cable (e.g. amplifier), noise interference may occur due to ground loops. To
eliminate this interference, a ground isolator (e. g. OMNITRONIC LH-082) may be
used to connect the mixer to the unit.
3
Use the button LINE/USB to define which input signal is assigned to
channel 2: button not pressed = signal of the jacks LINE IN 2, button
pressed = signal of the USB jack.
4
For the basic setting, set the gain control, the tone controls and the
pan/balance controls to mid-position. Then adjust the master level
control for the overall volume to a level that the subsequent
adjustments can be heard.
5
Adjust the desired volume ratio of the input channels with the level
controls. If you have to turn up the level control of channel 1 very far,
increase thin input gain with the gain control. In case of overload of
channel 1, the red LED CLIP lights up. If it lights red continuously, turn
back the gain control accordingly.
6
Adjust the desired sound with the tone controls. For channel 1, use
the panorama control PAN to place the mono signal in the stereo
sound. For channel 2, use the balance control BAL to adjust the
balance of the stereo signal.
7
Determine the definite level for the master volume with the master
control. In case of overload the red LEDs CLIP light up. If the LEDs
light continuously, turn back the master control or the channel controls
accordingly.
