MAKING THE CONNECTIONS
Switch off the speaker system and the units to be connected before making or changing the
connections.
Models 208A | 210A | 212A | 215A | 2215A
1
Audio units with line level (e.g. mixer or CD player) can be connected via balanced XLR plugs at the
input
LINE IN
or via the unbalanced RCA L/R input.
2
A microphone can be connected via XLR or 6.3 mm plug at the input
MIC
both balanced and
unbalanced. Models 215A and 2215A have two microphone inputs.
3
At the output
LINE OUT
the master signal of all channels is available. This output allows connecting
e.g. the input of another active speaker system for additional PA applications via XLR or 6.3 mm plug.
Model 208A
Models 151A MK2 | 181A MK2
1
Audio units with line level (e.g. mixer or CD player) can be connected via balanced XLR jacks at the
INPUT
jacks.
The inputs are designed for stereo signals (R = right channel, L = left channel).
2
At the balanced XLR outputs
LINK
, the input signal fed through is available.
3
The balanced XLR output
HIGH PASS OUT
provides a high-pass filtered line signal. This output allows
connecting active top speakers for when setting up a satellite system.
A good cable run improves the sound quality remarkably. Signal cables should be short and direct, since
high frequencies will mostly be absorbed if cables are unnecessarily long. Besides that a longer cable may
lead to humming and noise trouble. If long cable runs are unavoidable, you should use balanced cables. In
order to obtain highest sound quality, only use high-quality cables for connecting the devices. Make sure that
the cables are properly fixed.
Connector Configuration
Connection to the Mains
Finally, connect the supplied power supply cable to the corresponding input and the mains plug to an outlet
(AC 230 V, 50 Hz). Models 208A | 210A | 212A | 215A | 2215A can also be operated with AC 115 V, 60 Hz.
For this purpose, set the voltage selector switch to the 115 V position.
