Getting to know your camera better
The battery is not fully charged
• Charge the battery with the charger.
The battery is temporarily unable to function because of the cold
• Battery performance declines in low temperatures, and the charge may not be
sufficient to turn on the camera. Remove the battery and warm it by putting it
in your pocket for a while.
The camera is in sleep mode
• To save battery power, the camera automatically switches to sleep mode and
the monitor turns off if there is no operation when the camera is turned on
(when the lens is extended and the monitor is on). No picture is taken even if
the shutter button is fully pressed in this mode. Operate the zoom button or
other buttons to restore the camera from sleep mode before taking a picture.
If the camera is left for about 15 minutes, it automatically turns off (the lens
retracts and the monitor turns off). And when the camera is turned on with
playback mode, the camera does not switch to sleep mode and the camera
will turn off automatically when it left for about 3 minutes. Press the
POWER
button to turn the camera on.
The mode switch is set to
q
• This is the playback mode for displaying pictures on the monitor. Set the mode
switch to a shooting mode.
The flash is charging
• Wait until the
#
(flash charge) mark stops blinking then press the shutter
button again.
Using the camera with the default setting
• The default setting of the date and time is not correct.
