5 Operating instructions
Maximum temperature display
The maximum temperature is displayed in MAX after the temperature measurement.
Backlight
1.
Press and release the trigger.
2.
While HOLD is displayed, press the backlight button to switch it on.
3.
The backlight status will be stored in memory until changed.
Press the up and down button to adjust emissivity, while HOLD is on display.
The emissivity of this measuring instrument is between 0.1 up to 1.0.
Note: The backlight puts an extra strain on the battery. Turn it off, if you do not need it.
MODE button options
1.
Use the MODE button to access the following features of the instrument:
Maximum value, minimum value, average value, high alarm, low alarm, external probe (not included).

Press the trigger briefly. Then press MODE to select the next programme.
• MAX: displays the maximum values during the measurement.
• MIN: displays the minimum values during the measurement.
• diF : displays the difference between the first and the subsequent data.
• AVG: displays the average between the first and the subsequent data.
• HAL: press the up and down button to set the upper temperature limit.
• LAL: press the up and down button to set the lower temperature limit.
• ALARM: if the temperature is too high or too low, the instrument gives an acoustic signal
You can set the alarm temperature in the MODE menu. It is stored until changed.
Temperature unit
°F or °Celsius are set by the switch menu. Press the MODE button for 2 seconds.
Over-range indication
If the temperature measurement exceeds the set temperature range,
the thermometer will display dashes (“----“) instead of a temperature reading.
