1.1.4 Maintenance practices for safety
• Before you open the cover of the battery compartment, you have to disconnect the test leads from the multimeter.
• In the event of maintenance, only the designated spare parts may be used.
• Before opening the meter, the operator has to always remove the batteries. At the same time, he must ensure that he
does not carry any static in order to avoid damage to the meter.
• The meter may only be calibrated, repaired or maintained by professionals.
• When the meter’s case is opened, the operator must be aware of the possibility that the presence of some capaci-
tance may promise dangerous voltages even if the power supply to the meter is cut off.
• The operator should stop using the meter immediately if any anomalies have been observed. He cannot use it unless
it has been maintained and proved conforming.
• If the meter is left idle for a longer period, you should remove the batteries and put them in a place where they are
protected from high temperatures and moisture.
